QuantumInputOutput.jl follows the virtual-cavity input-output construction introduced by Kiilerich and Mølmer (Kiilerich and Mølmer, 2019) and developed into a general pulse formalism in (Kiilerich and Mølmer, 2020).
Its network composition layer is based on the SLH framework reviewed by Combes, Kerckhoff, and Sarovar (Combes et al., 2017). The interaction-picture treatment of propagating quantum pulses follows Christiansen, Kiilerich, and Mølmer (Christiansen et al., 2023), while the virtual-cavity treatment of finite propagation delays follows Christiansen and Mølmer (Christiansen and Mølmer, 2026).
